Beginning with a vision to deliver premium, farm-fresh salmon to our neighbors, GoodLife Agriculture brings together trusted aquaculture partners, Midwest distribution strength, and efficient ground-transport supply chains to produce high-quality Atlantic salmon products for a growing demand for nutritious, low-impact protein.
Rooted in small-town Nebraska values, our salmon is responsibly sourced and carefully handled to ensure exceptional freshness, consistent quality, and full traceability — all without reliance on vulnerable wild fisheries or unpredictable international bulk fish imports.

Where We Started
Kiel and Mimi VanderVeen began an ambitious journey three years ago to expand access to fresh food and premium salmon in the Midwest, immersing themselves in the science and operations behind modern aquaponics systems. Their project in the heart of the Midwest became one of only two integrated fish-and-produce facilities of its kind in the United States.
By mastering the systems, logistics, and production processes, they demonstrated what a reliable, regionally based seafood model could look like — supporting the production and distribution of more than 1,200 pounds of Atlantic salmon per week.
Although an October 2024 fire destroyed crops and salmon inventory intended for a future expansion phase, Kiel and Mimi remain committed to their vision. Plans for a 600,000-square-foot food production and distribution facility in Nebraska City continue to move forward.
